Uniquely, the Fairtrade Mark is independently awarded by the Fairtrade Foundation, with its international partners. Approved products are then routinely checked so they continue to meet the Mark criteria. Public awareness of the Fairtrade Mark is fast increasing. The Fairtrade campaign aims change consumer habits so people look for the Mark when out shopping, eating and drinking. The Fairtrade range now extends beyond tea, coffee and bananas with over 1,500 Fairtrade products available. There are over 30 Fairtrade certified wines, sourced from Chile and South Africa and Argentina.


Fairtrade Eastbourne would like to see Eastbourne Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Cafes offer their customers more Fairtrade products in the future.
