Local MP calls for Eastbourne to become a Fairtrade Town!

Check out the video below for a video message we recorded at a recent meeting with the Member of Parliament for Eastbourne and Willingodn Stephen Lloyd.  Stephen gave his full backing to the Fairtrade campaign in Eastbourne and shares our enthusiasm to see our town achieve Fairtrade Town Status in the near future....

MP Stephen Lloyd meets with Fairtrade Eastbourne and calls for a Fairtrade Town

Member of Parliament for Eastbourne and Willingdon Stephen Lloyd met recently with Fairtrade Eastbourne to discuss their efforts to make Eastbourne a Fairtrade Town.

"I’m extremely enthusiastic about the Fairtrade movement and its aim to benefit the public economically, environmentally and ethically.  I look forward to working with Fairtrade Eastbourne closely over the coming months in promoting the values of the cause across Eastbourne and Willingdon." said Mr Lloyd.

"I think Eastbourne should be a Fairtrade Town.  I think it will make a difference to the image that Eastbourne has and would be met with tremendous enthusiasm from people across Eastbourne from the schools up to pensioners."

"There are a lot of businesses who I think are ready to step up to the plate.  I believe the Council is, and I believe many people will believe it's a real benefit to the town. Let's go that extra step, help put Eastbourne on the map. Let's help make a difference to a lot of the producers in the under-developed world by buying more Fairtrade."
