Eastbourne For Peace &
Liberty
In recent
years the world has
witnessed violence
on a horrific
scale. The attacks in New York and the consequent bombing of
Afghanistan. The invasion of Iraq and the
ongoing disaster. Suicide bombings
in London
and abroad. And the violence on the Israeli Lebanese
border.
The
world has also seen the rise of a global peace movement.
How many people
must
live beneath the world's conflicts? How many lives are touched by
the loss of one life? How many civilians must have died because
international diplomacy failed, or was forgone?
What's more in the UK, law upon law is having a serious effect by
eroding the right to protest and strengthening the power of the
state from the introduction of ID cards to detention without
trial.
Eastbourne For Peace & Liberty is committed to raising these
issues locally and making sure Eastbourne is part of national
protests to oppose these actions.
